ADAC GT Masters drivers win European title: Buhk/Baumann are new GT3 European Champions

Brilliant boost for the two youngest ADAC GT Masters drivers in the run-up to this weekend's finale in Hockenheim. Dominik Baumann and Maximilian Buhk in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 secured a one-two victory at the Nürburgring finale of the FIA GT3 European Championship, clinching the European title, and their outfit HEICO GRAVITY CHAROUZ took the team title, making victory twice as sweet.

Buhk/Baumann have won six of twelve races on their way to the European title. Both young drivers learned their craft in the ADAC's motor racing academy, the Formel ADAC. Baumann moved up to the ADAC GT Masters in 2011, whereas Buhk transferred from Formel ADAC powered by Volkswagen to the Gullwing Mercedes this year.

Delighted Austrian driver Baumann said after the title win in the Eifel: "Our entire European championship season went almost perfectly, since we had only two or three minor issues during the whole season. Securing the title with a win at Maximilian's home race is simply terrific. I'm very proud for the two of us."

Baumann and Buhk will be up against each other once again this weekend in the ADAC GT Masters but will be on the same team; Baumann will share a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with Hari Proczyk for the finale, and Buhk's co-driver will be Andreas Simonsen.
