The successor of the Audi R8 LMS, the most successful car in the ADAC GT Masters with 14 victories, is waiting in the wings: the R8 LMS Ultra. Castrop-Rauxel's Mamerow Racing and Team Prosperia UHC Speed from Roth are the first recipients of the newly developed GT3 race car. Peter Mamerow and his team as well as Udo Zink, Managing Director of Prosperia UHC Speed, were there in person to collect the first two models of the R8 LMS Ultra from the Audi factory in Neckarsulm.
"We are very excited about the great response that has been generated about our car in the increasingly important international GT3 scene", stresses Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing from Quattro GmbH, who develop, produce and sell the Audi R8 LMS. "In addition to the sales numbers, the market share is also a measure of success for us. We are pleased to welcome Mamerow Racing as a new Audi customer team. The team has been a proven force around the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring for many years and has now chosen our product. We are just as pleased that Prosperia UHC Speed are continuing their collaboration with us and will soon get a second copy of the R8 LMS Ultra.
The new Audi R8 LMS Ultra has many technical modifications and improvements over its predecessor. From the passive safety of significantly improved aerodynamics and a more efficient cooling system to changes in the chassis, the GT3 car is the pinnacle of technology. The car costs 329,900 Euros (plus VAT) and has a large service interval. This allows the performance of a V10 production engine to regularly achieve racing distances of over 20,000km.
