American muscle car on a power track: YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer starts this weekend with it's pair of Chevrolet Camaro GT on the quickest track of the ADAC GT Masters season. The popular German series travels to Austria and starts on the Red Bull Ring in front of a scenic Alps panorama into the second half of the season. For the fifth round of the ADAC GT Masters, Philip Geipel returns behind the steering of the Camaro and will share the #34 Camaro with Max Sandritter, while the second Chevrolet Camaro GT will be driven by Achim Winter and Charlie Geipel.
Five right corners, two left corners, connected by long straights: This is the Red Bull Ring, the former Österreichring in Austria. After some narrow and twisty track at the recent ADAC GT Masters rounds, the track in Styria should be a perfect hunting ground for the 650 hp strong Chevrolet Camaro GT. After successful tests at the Red Bull Ring in spring, YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer travels optimistic to Austria.
"We are a bit excited about the races at the Red Bull Ring, but the track layout should suit our car and on the long straights, our Camaro can really flex its muscles", YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer team manager Uwe Geipel says. "I'm also happy that we can welcome Philip Geipel back in our team after a two-race break."
"I spent the last few weeks training to be fit for the race at the Red Bull Ring," says Philip Geipel, who had to miss the race at the Sachsenring and the Nürburgring due to a broken collarbone. "Some two weeks ago I already sat in the car, but only for some demonstration laps at an event of our partner Customkingz. But this weekend on the Red Bull Ring things are getting serious again. I will approach the weekend careful and will avoid any unnecessary risk. The track really looks like it will suit our car and I can't wait to get back into the car."
