Comments after qualifying: Drivers comment on qualifying at Sachsenring

Daniel Keilwitz (# 28 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3), Pole Position, Race 2: "I went straight out at the beginning of the session, warmed up the tyres for two laps and then posted quite a decent lap. The first flying lap was dead right, but I was still worried that something might go wrong. Dominik Schwager and Maxime Martin got very close to me, but I'd done enough. A gift of a pole and a pole won on the track, a perfect foundation for both races."

Maxime Martin (# 1 ALPINA BMW ALPINA B6 GT3): 3rd on the grid, Race 2: "I pushed very hard and was absolutely on the limit, I was lucky and progressed fairly well through the traffic. The result is OK as we will be third on the grid in both races."

Dominik Schwager (# 20 Schubert Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3), 2nd on the grid, Race 2: "Our goal this weekend was to get the car near the front of the grid but I never thought we would make the front row. We got setup right and I hope that we can translate this into a good result in the race. Hopefully, everyone will get away cleanly at the start, but going into the first turn especially might prove to be tight. We're hoping for maximum points in the two races. Spectators will certainly get their money's worth this weekend, for sure."

Mirko Bortolotti (# 19 BMW Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3), 5th on the grid, Race 2: "I was able to test the BMW Z4 GT3 only briefly this week at Hockenheim and am here for the first time. I had some fleeting opportunity to learn the track in a road car on Thursday. Too bad that the first qualifying session was cancelled, I'm sure my team-mate Abdulaziz Al Faisal could have achieved a good result. So we must start from the rear in the first race, and will certainly be very much on a learning curve for this event. Everything worked out fine for me in the second qualifying session, though, the BMW is a great racing car."

Jan Seyffarth (# 42 SMS Seyffarth Motorsport Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), 6th on the grid, Race 2: "Sixth on the grid is an important result for us. We are doing very well, even when compared to other SLS and have already put some distance between ourselves and fellow Mercedes drivers. It was a bit unfortunate for the first group that qualifying was cancelled. I'm sure Max Mayer could have achieved a good result."

Frank Kechele (# 18 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3), 12th on the grid, Race 2: "We got setup completely wrong. We tweaked the settings slightly during qualifying and things were a bit better, but we'll use the same setup in the race as Keilwitz and Alessi."

Christoffer Nygaard (# 33 Young Driver AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3), 7th on the grid, Race 2: "I had a very good lap, everything went great and lap times were good too. We are very satisfied with seventh place on the grid."
