ADAC GT Masters·28.9.2012

Comments after qualifying: Reactions from the paddock after qualifying at Hockenheim

Christian Engelhart (#36 Team Geyer & Weinig EDV / Schütz Motorsport - Porsche 911 GT3 R), pole position for Race 1:

"This weekend is going to be a real thriller. I set my qualifying time on my first flying lap; the next two would have been even faster, but unfortunately I was blocked both times. The car was great - the crew have done perfect preparation work on the Porsche. Unfortunately, Sean experienced a lot of traffic in qualifying, and by the time the track was free, the tyres were past their peak, otherwise he would certainly have been much further forward on the grid."

Heinz-Harald Frentzen (#27 Callaway Competition - Corvette Z06.R GT3), P5 in Race 2:

"The session went much better than expected. Obviously, you're always left wanting more, but today I got the best out of the situation. As a general observation, this weekend is going to be extremely tight once again. One or two tenths of a second make a world of difference here."

Martin Ragginger (#15 FACH AUTO TECH - Porsche 911 GT3 R), pole position for Race 2:

"I had to break off my first lap after a small mistake in my second flying lap, but then on the second attempt, I managed to get the best out of my tyres at their peak. The team have supplied us with a super car. If we don't wrap up the amateur title on Saturday, we at least have the perfect starting position on Sunday and a really strong chance."

Daniel Keilwitz (# 28 Callaway Competition - Corvette Z06.R GT3), P6 in Race 2:

"I got the maximum out of the car, and that's the limit of what you can do, unfortunately. The success ballast is making itself extremely noticeable on braking and acceleration going into the hairpin. But the races are long and a lot can happen."

Sebastian Asch (#5 kfzteile24 MS RACING Team - Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG), P4 in Race 1:

"We can feel very satisfied with our qualifying result. Unfortunately, from our perspective, we have the wrong Porsche ahead of us on Saturday."

Daniel Dobitsch (#4 kfzteile24 MS RACING Team - Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), P15 in Race 2:

"Qualifying went better than expected, I didn't think I was capable of finishing in the Top 20. A lot of the teams and drivers test here, so I didn't rate my own chances all that highly, especially in such a competitive field."

Maximilian Götz (#5 kfzteile24 MS RACING Team - Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3); P2 in Race 2:

"After free practice, I wasn't expecting us to make it onto the front row, but I put in a really hot lap. Our goal now is to win the race on Sunday. I hope that the Porsche number 15 isn't as strong as that over the distance on Sunday. Grid positions four and two are a great team effort; our car is absolutely the best."

Robert Renauer (#29 FROGREEN CO2 neutral - Porsche 911 GT3 R), P7 in Race 1:

"We're starting both races in the Top Ten, but the gap between us and the other BMW on pole is a bit too big. We'll think of a strategy for the race on Sunday and try it out on Saturday."

Max Partl (#19 Schubert Motorsport - BMW Z4 GT3), P25 in Race 1:

"I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to compete in the ADAC GT Masters this weekend as a member of the Schubert Motorsport team. The BMW handles beautifully, and I felt totally comfortable in the cockpit right from the start. Contesting two races in the BMW Z4 GT3 is something that I'm looking forward to very much."

Claudia Hürtgen (# 20 Schubert Motorsport - BMW Z4 GT3), P2 in Race 1:

"It's absolutely great to have qualified for second place on the grid. Now we will be doing our very best in the race on Saturday to give the Schubert team a victory in the ADAC GT Masters. It won't be easy though, because those Porsches are incredibly fast on the long straight."
