Christoffer Nygaard (#33 Young Driver AMR, Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3), race winner: "Incredible! We never thought that we had a chance of winning here. I wasn't too sure which position I was in just before the pit stop. When I saw the pit board showing P1, I could hardly believe my eyes! Kristian did a fantastic job in the second half of the race. His performance deserves the utmost respect."
Kristian Poulsen (#33 Young Driver AMR, Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3); race winner and winner in amateur classification: "That was really good today. At first, I was a bit concerned, because I was having trouble with the clutch and with second and third gears. Meanwhile, the chasing bunch were getting closer. But after five laps, the problem sorted itself out and I was able to control the gap."
Edward Sandström (#21 Prosperia uhc speed, Audi R8 LMS ultra), Second: "The car was very good, but I really had to push hard. This is my first time at the Sachsenring, so I don't know all the intricacies of the track. We didn't get off to the best of starts, but after that, Christopher put in a really good stint."
Christopher Mies (#21 Prosperia uhc speed, Audi R8 LMS ultra), Second: "I'm very pleased that the stewards cracked down early on and dished out a few penalties. At the start of the race, I was clearly faster than the Alpina ahead of me, but I couldn't get past. I'm satisfied with the outcome. However, it got very tense on the last few laps - I was feeling a bit worried. We gave it everything we'd got. It was a great race and a lot of fun."
Mirko Bortolotti (#19 Schubert Motorsport, BMW Z4 GT3), Third: "I'm very satisfied. We got the maximum that was possible for us from this weekend. I was totally at the limit in today's race and I learnt a lot about the car in a short time. I'm still lacking a bit of experience, but we're pretty good in terms of pace."
Swen Dolenc (#15 FACH AUTO TECH, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Eleventh: "The car was a bit tricky to drive today. I didn't get into a proper rhythm until almost the end of the race. The Sachsenring wasn't designed for Porsches, so we're satisfied with what we've got."
Toni Seiler (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), Fifth in race and runner-up in amateur classification: "That was a good race, though the pressure from behind never went away. I'm very happy with this result, but it's frustrating to see Poulsen still ahead of me, because I would've really loved to win the amateur classification today."
Dino Lunardi (#1 ALPINA-BMW, ALPINA B6 GT3), 16th: "Obviously, we're very disappointed, and the gap on the leaders has just got bigger. But there's still a long way to go before the championship is decided, and a lot can happen in the next few races. Who knows - maybe the others will have a bit of bad luck?"
Daniel Keilwitz (#28 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), Fourth: "The extra ballast on board for being so successful really made itself felt today, especially on the slower sections of the track. But we're OK with P4 - it's a good result for our championship campaign. We also benefited from the penalties that were handed out to our closest rivals."
Alexandros Margaritis(#10 SCHÖNER WOHNEN Polarweiss Team HEICO, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), DNF: "That was a weekend of lost opportunities for us. I had already moved nine places up the field when the Alpina clipped my rear wheel and spun me into the gravel. After that, we had to retire from the race, as the suspension was out of balance."
