Christian Engelhart (#36 Team Geyer & Weinig EDV - Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Winner:
"I had a great start, so the safety car phase right at the beginning was not exactly wonderful from my point of view. The team did a perfect job today, and today's victory was a smashing team effort."
Nick Tandy (#36 Team Geyer & Weinig EDV - Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Winner:
"The SLS just kept on getting faster towards the end, and I had to use all the strength that the Porsche could muster to stay ahead. I then made a small mistake with two laps to go to the end of the race and went onto the dirt briefly, allowing the Mercedes to get closer. But it was a fair scrap. We gave each other space. The Porsche is a very good car when defending position."
Maximilian Götz (#5 kfzteile24 MS RACING Team, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), Second:
"The scrap with Nick Tandy was very fair, but it was important for me not to risk too much in view of the championship. Whilst I could get next to the Porsche, it always had the better line on accelerating out of the turn. It was a great fight and a lot of fun. A good pit stop was the key to success today."
Sebastian Asch (#5 kfzteile24 MS RACING Team, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), Second:
"I moved up a position right at the start. I then tried to get past Robert Renauer, but overtaking the Porsche was not easy. We gained some advantage from the safety car phase, moving into second place after a speedy pit stop."
Robert Renauer (#29 FROGREEN CO2 neutral, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Third:
"I was behind the safety car for much of the first half of the race and then had to defend against Sebastian Asch, so there's not really a deal I can say about the race."
Nicolas Armindo (#29 FROGREEN CO2 neutral, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Third:
"After securing our two second places at the Red Bull Ring, we had a nice hefty weight in the car's boot, namely the success ballast. I was therefore in no position to do battle for the top spot, but the important thing is that we made it to the podium. However, it's going to be harder still tomorrow with another 10kg in the car!"
Swen Dolenc (#15 FACH AUTO TECH, Porsche 911 GT3 R), Seventh and Winner in the amateur stakes:
"I lost a position at the start and didn't want to risk too much. The second safety car period put us on the back foot, since we had already pitted and so lost four places, but seventh place is OK. The car was brilliant and the team worked perfectly once again."
René Bourdeaux (#26 Team GT3 Kasko, Porsche 911 GT3 R), 13th and Second in the amateur stakes:
"I got through the first three turns quite well, but whilst on the back straight, I could see that a crash was in the offing on the turn into the infield. Luckily, I was able to get out of the way."
Kristian Poulsen (#33 Young Driver AMR, Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3), 17th and Third in the amateur stakes:
"My start was OK, but I could not do much in the race; we are just not quick enough. The car is good, but we had no chance against the opposition."
Mario Farnbacher (#6 Farnbacher ESET Racing-Porsche 911 GT3 R), Fourth:
"We benefited from the safety car, because we've had some trouble with grip throughout the weekend which would not have got any better as the race progressed. Under these circumstances, fourth place is acceptable."
Lance David Arnold (#10 SCHÖNER WOHNEN Polarweiss, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG), Tenth:
"I didn't lose any places in the race today, but didn't move up the field much either. The safety car phases ruined my race tactics somewhat. I was stuck behind a Porsche for a long time, since the Porsche's traction and top speed makes it practically impossible to overtake. When the Porsche pitted, though, I was immediately a second faster. But the time I lost behind that Porsche was difficult to pull back."
Philipp Geipel (#34 YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer, Chevrolet Camaro GT), retired:
"Max Sandritter had a puncture, and so slid into the gravel. Since the recovery took two laps, we decided not to continue with the race."
Frank Kechele (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), 22nd:
"We had a problem with the throttle valve, which only allowed around 60% of the fuel through."
Christoph Schrezenmeier (#51 Team GT3 Kasko, Porsche 911 GT3 R), retired:
"It was a very hard impact, but luckily I did not suffer any injuries. The car, however, is a total write-off."
