Comments from practice: Drivers' comments after two sessions

Maxime Martin (#1 ALPINA BMW ALPINA B6 GT3): "We had some problems with grip in the first practice session. The track was still quite dirty but that will of course improve as the day goes on."

Christopher Mies (#21 Prosperia uhc speed Audi R8 LMS ultra): "I only drove a few laps in the first session and was as fast as the Mamerow Audi on fresh tyres. After that, I let Edward take over. He's still learning the circuit."

Claudia Hürtgen (#20 Schubert Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3): "We secured fastest time in first practice on fresh tyres. We damaged a tyre in an incident during the installation lap in the first race at Zandvoort, so we decided to run new tyres from the very beginning of the session. Dominik posted fastest time."

Luca Ludwig (#37 Gemballa Racing-McLaren MP4 12C GT3): "Just because we did well in the first session, doesn't mean the whole weekend is going to continue in the same vein but it's a good start and something to build on. We still had very good tyres from Zandvoort and carry less weight here at the Sachsenring. The car is also better balanced than in the last two races."

Toni Seiler (#18 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3): "Things haven't gone too badly for us up until now, but we will have a bit of work to do on chassis setup. I also need a bit more time to get used to this demanding circuit."

Dino Lunardi (#1 ALPINA BMW ALPINA B6 GT3): "We are not unhappy with the way things went, but the balance of the car isn't quite right. I think everyone has the same problem and it's probably to do with the track still being quite dirty."

Kristian Poulsen (#33 Young Driver AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3): "The circuit is great. It's my first time here. But it looks like overtaking other drivers during the race is going to be tough around this track. We did well, but I didn't have a single clear lap on new tyres. I hope we make the top ten in qualifying, though."

Marco Seefried (#25 Team GT3 Kasko Porsche 911 GT3 R): "The Sachsenring doesn't seem to suit Porsches, looking at the results from practice. Even the fastest Porsche was well off the pace. We were only three-tenths of a second off Nick Tandy's time during my fastest lap which is OK. We thought we could make up time on the final sector using the Porsche's high top speed but it just didn't seem to work out."

Carsten Tilke (#22 Prosperia uhc speed Audi R8 LMS): "We still had a few problems with setup during practice. Things were much better for our sister car that utilised a different approach. The rain in second practice didn't help either. It's very important for an amateur like me to get in plenty of driving during practice and analyse the data subsequently. Well, I missed some practice time today but hope all will be well in qualifying."

Johannes Stuck (#32 Young Driver AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3): "Our times haven't been quick so far. The car is good, so that's not the problem. We just need to analyse the data carefully to see exactly where we're losing time."

Chris Mamerow (#40 Mamerow Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra): "Securing best time in practice doesn't mean a deal. Let's just wait and see what happens in qualifying and where we stand after that. We were quick in practice at Oschersleben and then things turned out very differently in qualifying."

Peter Kox (#24 InternetX Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+): "We are trying to do the best we can here, but we are still fighting to get the setup right. It's improved a bit, as our fourth-fastest time proves, but we need to do more."
