Dolenc cruises to fifth win: Porsche also dominant in amateur stakes at Red Bull Ring

The first of two races in the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring was also a happy occasion for Porsche in the amateur stakes. Swen Dolenc drove an assured stint in the FACH AUTO TECH Porsche 911 to claim his fifth win of 2012 in the amateur championship. As early as the first corner, Dolenc moved up three positions to emerge from the first lap in P5. In the second half of the race, Dolenc's team-mate Martin Ragginger claimed one more scalp to bring the Porsche 911 over the finish line in fourth place overall.

Dolenc's closest pursuers, Kristian Poulsen (Young Driver AMR) in the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 and Georg Engelhardt (Team GT3 Kasko) in a Porsche 911 GT3 R, were also left trailing in the second stint. The Aston Martin and the Porsche swapped places as Engelhardt's co-driver Marco Seefried swept past Poulsen's team-mate Christoffer Nygaard after the pit stop. Seefried increased the gap on Nygaard as the race progressed to assure Engelhardt of his best result yet in the amateur competition.

In the second FACH AUTO TECH Porsche 911 GT3 R, Otto Klohs and Andrina Gugger narrowly missed out on a podium, finishing fourth. They were followed across the line by local favourite Peter Ebner (rhino's Leipert Motorsport) in his Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ and Carsten Tilke driving the Audi R8 LMS ultra entered by Prosperia uhc speed.

"I got off to a great start and managed to pass several cars on the outside," says Dolenc. "I'm delighted. P4 is my best result to date in the ADAC GT Masters." Another satisfied driver was Georg Engelhardt who secured his second podium of 2012: "I kept clear of all the aggro and defended my position. In the closing stage of the race, Marco Seefried was incredibly strong and got us much further up the field."
