DTM test for Maxime Martin: The Belgian driver is to test drive the BMW M3 DTM soon

Maxime Martin is still in the fight for the title in the ADAC GT Masters in the BMW ALPINA B6 GT3 with two races remaining at the Nürburgring and the finale in Hockenheim, but the next challenge is already waiting for the Belgian star in the making: BMW has invited the two-time ADAC GT Masters season winner to try out the BMW M3 DTM. Apart from Martin, the Swiss driver Fabio Leimer will also get the chance to drive BMW's DTM racing car.

BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt: "We are delighted to be able to give Maxime and Fabio this opportunity to try out the new car and get a taste for DTM. Maxime is perfect for this opportunity in view of his strong showing in GT racing. He has already demonstrated his talent impressively several times during the season at the wheel of the BMW Z4 GT3."

There are four races still on the calendar as we approach the end of the season, and Maxime Martin is joint fourth in the standings along with defending champion Dino Lunardi. Besides the ADAC GT Masters, the speedy Belgian driver has also contested this year's Blancpain Endurance Series in a Z4 GT3. The son of Belgian Touring Car legend Jean-Michel Martin is right at the top of the table with just two races remaining before the end of the season.

Martin: "I am very grateful to BMW for this opportunity. Behind me lies a tight race programme for 2012. I have come to know BMW as a great manufacturer. I have really enjoyed our collaboration in GT racing and am sure this will again be my experience in the DTM. I will enjoy every single mile in the BMW M3 DTM immensely and give it my all."
