The first ever ADAC GT Masters champion and most successful contestant in the history of the series returns to the Super Sports Car League this weekend. With eleven wins to his credit, Christopher Haase is still the most successful driver of all time. The 2007 champion has now agreed to make a guest appearance at the Lausitzring.
This year's winner of the Nürburgring 24hr endurance race will be sharing the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Mamerow Racing with Chris Mamerow himself. Haase has been drafted in to replace René Rast who has a clash of engagements.
The man from Upper Franconia has a good record over the years as a substitute driver at the Lausitzring. In 2009, his ADAC GT Masters season did not even get underway until the Lausitzring fixture, and he promptly won the race in an Audi R8 LMS shared with Henri Moser.
"I am very excited to be back in the ADAC GT Masters and also to be working with Mamerow Racing," says Haase. "This season, I am mainly competing in endurance races. The ADAC GT Masters makes a great change; it's nice to be involved in a sprint race again, so my reflexes don't go rusty," he adds with a chuckle.
