Huge power density but Audi secure best time: Sandström and Mies fastest in second practice

Never before have cars been this tightly bunched in the ADAC GT Masters with just 0.100 seconds covering the nine fastest supercars in FP2 at the final weekend in Hockenheim. Just one second separated the quickest in practice, Edward Sandström and Christopher Mies (Prosperia uhc speed) in the Audi R8 LMS ultra, from the second Prosperia Audi R8 of Carsten Tilke and Christian Abt in P20.

Times at the top tumbled rapidly during the final five minutes of second practice at the Hockenheimring: Sandström/Mies edged their way into P1, followed by the Ford GT of Jesse Krohn and Nico Verdonck (Lambda Performance) with a deficit of only 0.023 seconds.

Diego Alessi and Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition) were the fastest pair of drivers from among the title contenders in their Corvette Z06.R GT3, taking third place from the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 prepared by MRS GT-Racing and co-driven at Hockenheim by Fredy Barth and Philipp Eng. Christian Engelhart, placed second in the standings, posted the fifth fastest lap time with Sean Edwards (Team Geyer & Weinig IT / Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R).

"The Men in Black", Sebastian Asch and Maximilian Götz (kfzteile24 MS RACING Team), placed third in the championship in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, were sixth ahead of fellow Mercedes drivers Christiaan Frankenhout and Kenneth Heyer (HEICO Motorsport). The mixed doubles competitors, Claudia Hürtgen and Dominik Schwager (Schubert Motorsport), finished eighth in the BMW Z4 GT3, followed by Mario Farnbacher and Niclas Kentenich (Farnbacher ESET Racing) in the Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Gullwing Mercedes of HEICO Junior Team with Maximilian Buhk and Andreas Simonsen.

Dino Lunardi and Maxime Martin (ALPINA), who also still have a chance of the title in their BMW ALPINA B6 GT3, were well beaten in P26.
