Glad tidings for Lance David Arnold - the 26-year-old from Duisburg is joining the AMG driver pool from the New Year. As was the case in the previous season, AMG customer teams will also be able to call on reinforcement from the AMG pool of professional drivers in 2013.
Lance David Arnold joins the elite Mercedes-AMG driver squad of record DTM championship winner Bernd Schneider and former DTM stars Thomas Jäger and Maro Engel. Arnold contested the last two ADAC GT Masters seasons in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, partnering Alexandros Margaritis in the 2012 season as a member of the SCHÖNER WOHNEN Polarweiss Team HEICO. Like the three other AMG professionals, Arnold will be putting his experience of the gullwing model and of endurance racing at the disposal of AMG customer teams. Graduates of the AMG Driving Academy will be familiar with Arnold as an instructor.
Lance David Arnold is relishing his new role: "It is a great honour for me to be part of the AMG driver pool and especially to be lining up alongside one of my great sporting role models, five-time DTM champion Bernd Schneider. I'm really looking forward to being called in by customer teams to offer support, not only in terms of driving skills but also technical knowledge. In this way, I hope to play my part in developing the various SLS AMG GT3 cars for specific team needs."
Director of AMG Customer Sports Uli Fritz has welcomed Arnold to the AMG driver line-up: "I am delighted that Lance David Arnold is joining the AMG driver pool with immediate effect. I am sure that his vast experience will be of immense help to our customer teams. Because of his connections with the AMG Driving Academy, he has long been part of the Mercedes-AMG family."
