The second day of racing in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring gets off to an early start this Sunday morning with a best time for Mercedes-Benz. Czech duo Jan Stovicek/Erik Janis (HEICO GRAVITY CHAROUZ) set the benchmark in the warm-up with a 1:57.029mins, meaning that the two Mercedes-Benz drivers beat their own time from qualifying. Erik Janis starts today's second race from 15th place on the grid.
The two Dutchmen Simon Knap and Jeroen den Boer, who were placed fourth in the first race in the BMW Z4, were second fastest, coming home ahead of the Corvette of ADAC GT Masters newcomer Henry Zumbrink and Heinz-Harald Frentzen (Callaway Competition).
Christopher Mies and Edward Sandström secured one point in Saturday's race by finishing in tenth place in the Audi R8 LMS ultra. They secured this morning's fourth fastest time ahead of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 driven by Maximilian Buhk/Andreas Simonsen (HEICO Motorsport), who will be in third position on the grid for the second race at the Nürburgring (race start 12:30pm, live coverage on kabel eins at 12:15pm).
