Second practice for the ADAC GT Masters at the Lausitzring was full of twists and turns with Porsche and Mercedes in a protracted battle for the top spot during the 60-minute session. In the end, though, best time went to Porsche. Swen Dolenc and Martin Ragginger (FACH AUTO TECH) took the lead in their 911 GT3 R and were followed home by no less than four Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s.
Second fastest with a deficit of 0.202 seconds and sharing the honour with Dolenc/Ragginger of being the only other pair of drivers to post a sub 1:44 minutes were Sebastian Asch/Maximilian Götz (kfzteile24 MS RACING Team) in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. They crossed the finish line in another Gullwing from Stuttgart ahead of fellow Mercedes drivers, Daniel Dobitsch/Florian Stoll and Lance David Arnold/Alexandros Margaritis (SCHÖNER WOHNEN Polarweiss Team HEICO).
The Ford GT of Jesse Krohn and Nico Verdonck (Lambda Performance) was the fastest of the super cars that was neither a Porsche nor a Mercedes, finishing fifth in a session that was affected by rain only at the very start.
Jan Stovicek and Erik Janis (HEICO GRAVITY CHAROUZ) were very pleased with their best result of the season so far in practice. They took the sixth fastest time in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 from the Porsche 911 GT3 R of René Bourdeaux/Alfred Renauer (Team GT3 Kasko). Christiaan Frankenhout and Kenneth Heyer (HEICO Motorsport) were eighth in the fifth Gullwing to achieve a top-ten finish.
Chris Mamerow and Christopher Haase (Mamerow Racing) were placed tenth in the fastest of the Audi R8 LMS ultras, behind the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Christian Engelhart and Nick Tandy (Team Geyer & Weinig EDV - Schütz Motorsport).
