Two Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs set the pace during second practice at the Nürburgring. Sebastian Asch and Maximilian Götz (kfzteile MS RACING Team), who secured pole position in both races two months ago during the first Nürburgring ADAC GT Masters race weekend of 2012, posted a 1:57.100 mins to achieve fastest time. The Men in Black were 0.201 seconds faster than their fellow Mercedes drivers, Kenneth Heyer and 2011 Nürburgring-winner, Christiaan Frankenhout (HEICO Motorsport).
Heinz-Harald Frentzen with his new team-mate Henry Zumbrink (Callaway Competition), who is standing in for an indisposed Andreas Wirth this weekend, posted the third fastest time in the Corvette. Behind them came the two Stuck brothers, Ferdinand and Johannes (Young Driver AMR), who in the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 underlined their strong performance from first practice with the fourth fastest time in FT2 this afternoon.
The fastest Porsche 911 GT3 Rs followed in fifth and sixth place with leader in the amateur class Swen Dolenc, and Martin Ragginger (FACH AUTO TECH), followed by the winners from the Red Bull Ring, Mario Farnbacher and Niclas Kentenich (Farnbacher Racing ESET).
No less than three Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs took the chequered flag behind the Corvette of title contenders Diego Alessi and Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition) to complete the Top Ten; Maximilian Buhk/Andreas Simonsen in the Gullwing prepared by Nürburgring-based Team HEICO were eighth ahead of team-mates Harald Proczyk/Dominik Baumann, and Jan Stovicek/Erik Janis (HEICO GRAVITY CHAROUZ TEAM) in P10.
