Peter Kox: We'll give a good show in Zandvoort: The Dutchman speaks ahead of his home race in Zandvoort

The home race of Peter Kox, which is the first foreign guest race in the "League of Super Sports Cars" takes place Zandvoort, Holland (4-6 May), is also a new track for the 2010 ADAC GT Masters Champion. "I have only driven on the current track layout in Zandvoort in three races, and never before in a GT3 car. Therefore, I have no home advantage from previous knowledge of the track layout", says the Dutchman, who made his 50th start in the ADAC GT Masters at the season opener at the Oschersleben Motorsport Arena.

After a start to the season in Oschersleben that Kox and his team mate Marc A. Hayek would like to quickly forget, the 9-time ADAC GT Masters race winner is looking forward to the race in Zandvoort in the Lamborghini Gallardo LP600+ with Reiter Engineering. "In Oschersleben, the classification of the car wasn't suitable, but this has since been changed for the Gallardo. Although the classification for Zandvoort is not yet known, I am assuming that things will be better for us there. We will probably continue to struggle over one lap, but I hope that we can compete in the race."

Not only has Kox not driven many laps during numerous international races at the sand dunes track, but his team mate, the reigning Amateur champion, Marc A. Hayek also has very little experience at the former Formula 1 circuit. "Marc and I have only driven a few laps in Zandvoort and we need to get to know the track in the Lamborghini. Zandvoort is a very technical track, driving technique is very important and we need to find a good line.

"For the teams and drivers, the track in Zandvoort makes for a nice change with the sea at its doorstep", said Kox about the race in Zandvoort. "The layout of the track through the North Sea sand dunes is a lot of fun for the majority of the drivers, and with more than 40 cars on a rather narrow track things will be very interesting. We'll put on a good show in Zandvoort."
