Quotes from free practice: This is a real driver's track

Alfred Renauer (#26 Team GT3 Kasko Porsche 911 GT3 R): "We decided to not use a new set of tyres on the basis of the conditions since we were always expecting it to start raining again. Although we are quite far down the order, it is not so dramatic in these circumstances."

Tobias Schulze (#31 Schulze Motorsport Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3): "We have made good progress and tried a few different variations in our set-up. We had a few teething problems in Oschersleben, but the car is running smoothly here."

Sascha Bert (#37 Gemballa Racing McLaren MP4-12C GT3): "In first practice the ABS failed after four laps and in second practice we had a clutch failure and couldn't do much running. I'm also concerned that we won't be able to change the clutch in time for qualifying."

Johannes Stuck (#32 Young Driver AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3): "The Aston Martin is running well, we're happy. Our two tests at the Nordschleife have helped us a lot to gain more experience with the car. I am confident that we can run in the Top 10 in Qualifying."

Tomas Enge (#43 GRT Grasser Racing Lamborghini Gallardo LP520 GT3): "After two or three laps, the front splitter broke and unfortunately we could not fix a replacement before the end of the session. Therefore we couldn't do any more running and I only managed two flying laps on a wet track."

Daniel Keilwitz (#28 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3): "The best time in the second free practice session was done by Diego. Since he does not know the new car very well, I left him in the car for the majority of the session. The car works well but as you can see, we now need to do some fine tuning on the set-up."

Philip Geipel (#34 YACO Racing powered by Jochen Schweizer Chevrolet Camaro GT): "Unfortunately, my team mate Max Sandritter went into the barrier on his out lap, so we had a little bit of damage to the front."

Toni Seiler (#18 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3): "This is a real race track! A real driver's track and a lot of fun. I last drove here 30 years ago when there was a different track configuration. The driving skill needed on this track separates the men from the boys. In the first practice session in the wet, my head and throttle foot didn't want the same thing, but I'm happy with the second session."

Frank Kechele (#18 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R GT3): "I only did six laps and Toni spent most of the time in the car, but the track is fantastic! I am happy that Zandvoort is on the calendar, the track is a lot of fun. However, there isn't much room for error. If you even go slightly off the racing line, you have very little opportunity to correct a mistake. And if you come off the track, this frustrates the mechanics because the fine sand from the gravel traps gets stuck to the car and has to be removed with great difficulty."
