SPORT1 will once again be covering all eight ADAC Masters Weekend events this season. The privately owned TV station will present a highlights magazine including a detailed roundup each Saturday after a race weekend.
ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk: "We are delighted that Sport 1 will be continuing our long-standing partnership this year and carrying full reports about the ADAC Masters Weekend. Viewers can look forward to some exciting and spectacular motor racing and enjoy in-depth reviews of the action."
Five regular racing series in all and some additional support series will be covered during each ADAC Masters Weekend event; ex-Formula 1 world championship runner-up Heinz-Harald Frentzen is again contesting the ADAC GT Masters, which forms the backbone of the weekend with more than 40 cars from various constructors. New for this season in the League of Super Sports Cars: McLaren's MP4-12C GT3, the Chevrolet Camaro GT, Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 will compete for the first time against established models such as the Audi R8, BMW Z4, Ferrari 458 and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
With the Formel ADAC, the world's second-largest automobile club will be continuing its comprehensive and highly successful development programme for youngsters which is now in its fifth season. The Formel ADAC junior series has turned out a number of Formula 1 aces - Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock, and Nico Hülkenberg to name but a few - and has also produced many other top drivers, including current DTM icon Ralf Schumacher and reigning DTM champion Martin Tomczyk.
The MINI TROPHY is also part of the ADAC Masters Weekend, along with the ADAC GT Masters, the Formel ADAC and the other regular support series, ADAC PROCAR. The MINI TROPHY is the successor to the MINI Challenge series and is making its debut this year. Cora Schumacher, among others, is in the line-up.
