ADAC GT Masters: Comments after free practice: Quotes from the paddock after FP2

Christopher Haase (#26 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "It was by no means easy to post a fast lap in the second session. There was a lot of traffic out on the track, and for long periods, we had yellow flags. Also, the temperatures were higher than this morning. That´s why the times were generally slower. I was lucky enough to put in a good lap, so compared with the first session, we´ve made a big step forward. Now I´m hoping that we can pull off an equally good performance in qualifying."

Rahel Frey (#26 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "Our car is good, and Christopher (Haase) put in a great lap. If we can now manage to secure two respectable grid positions, that would be a nice way to round off the season."

Markus Winkelhock (#28 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "Things are looking pretty good for us so far. In free practice, I only used scrubbed tyres, but the times were still good. That gives us cause for optimism in qualifying."

Peter Dumbreck (#24 JRM Racing, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3): "We have a relatively large amount of ballast on board: because we´re only making a guest appearance here, we have to carry an extra 30 kilos in the car. We´ve never driven it as heavy as this before. The overall weight and the fact that we aren´t familiar with these tyres cause the car to handle very differently, but we just have to make the best of the situation. We were actually hoping to have done better, but all the same, we have four very competent drivers, and we´re just hoping that we get through the two races OK. An acceptable result for us would be to finish in the Top Ten. Our benchmark this weekend is the Mercedes driven by Buhk. We competed against that same car in the recent Blancpain series, so we should be able to gauge from that how well we have done."

Luca Ludwig (#11 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3): "First of all, I need to get used to these Yokohama tyres; I haven´t driven on them since last year. Anyway, I´m hoping to qualify in the Top Eight."

Dominik Baumann (#19 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3): "I confess I´m a bit surprised by the times set in the second session - they were unusually slow. We´ve been pretty competitive so far, so I certainly wasn´t expecting that."

Robert Renauer (#8 Tonino powered by Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Our results from the two sessions were OK, so that makes us reasonably confident. All the same, the times in FP2 were exceptionally slow, and I just don´t have any explanation for that. It´s going to be really tight in qualifying - the leading bunch are very evenly matched. I think it´s going to be tricky all round."

Albert von Thurn und Taxis: (#41 SaReNi United, Chevrolet Camaro GT): "We´re using the new tyres from Yokohama this weekend. They are significantly better than the tyres we used last. However, we haven´t had much opportunity to test the tyres in advance, so we´ve still got a lot to learn. We´ll have to wait and see how qualifying turns out."

Dominik Schwager (#14 Lambda Performance, Ford GT): "We´re not satisfied by a long way. We were still having minor problems in free practice, and we now need to shave some time off."

Jörg Müller (#20 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3): "We´re one second slower than our sister car. That is not a negligible gap. Now we need to analyse the data and find out where we´re losing the time."
