ADAC GT Masters: Comments after qualifying: Reactions from the paddock following the qualifying session at the Slovakia Ring

Frank Kechele (#14 Lambda Performance, Ford GT), pole position, Race 1:

"In no way could I say that I posted an absolutely perfect lap today, but there's nothing I could've done to improve it. Everything went like clockwork and now we understand the car a bit better too. The track is fun and today's cool weather suited us. Our Ford is quite at home in these conditions, as was evident in Spa. I've got no illusions about clinging on to any title ambitions I might have once had, despite securing pole. I'm too far down the table. I rate my title chances at maybe 3%."

Markus Winkelhock (#28 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), pole position, Race 2:

"Achieving my first pole position at the 100th ADAC GT Masters race is wonderful, of course. I would never have expected to finish on pole here after our results in practice. But the car felt perfect and I simply did the business."

Christopher Haase (#26 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), grid position 2, Race 2:

"My gearbox was playing up in qualifying, and I had to pit twice. The gearbox potentiometer was faulty. We replaced it, but there was only time for one lap after that. The tyres were past their best towards the end, but my lap was a peach."

Simon Knap (#12 DB Motorsport, BMW Z4), grid position 2, Race 1:

"Grid position two is great, and I'm very satisfied with the quali. Our car is running really well here. A lot depends on the start tomorrow, though. If we are still ahead after the start, then we might achieve a really decent result."

Dominik Baumann (#19 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), grid position 4, Race 2:

"Fourth on the grid is quite a decent result. To be fair, there are three Audis in front of me, but I can live with that; we still have 20kg success ballast on board from the race at the Lausitzring, so this grid position is very good given the circumstances. The start of the race tomorrow will be very exciting, for sure, because getting away well can be extremely tricky on the long, wide start/finish straight."

Diego Alessi (#2 Callaway Competition, Corvette GT3 Z06.R), grid position 22, Race 1:

"Well, obviously, I must have completely taken my brain out of gear for a few seconds. I ran a little too far to the right in Turn 6 whilst trying to drive in a big curve and promptly landed in the gravel. What on earth was I thinking of? I've got no idea at all. Now tomorrow, we'll just have to charge up the field from the rear. It will be interesting to see what position I'll be in after the first turn."

Aditya Patel (#100 MS RACING, Audi R8 LMS ultra), grid position 19, Race 1:

"Unfortunately, I made a small error during qualifying. I spun into the gravel in Turn 6. Annoying, but it happens. To make up for things, my team-mate Daniel Dobitsch had a great qualifying session, and we'll be in 12th place on the grid on Sunday."

Tomas Enge (Team Manager, #41 SaReNi United, Chevrolet Camaro GT):

"We are quite a bit slower than expected and have no real explanation as to why. We don't know whether it's the fault of the completely new car, the car itself basically or the tyres. We've got no traction, none at all. We've already tried everything today in practice. We improved the balance a bit, but the traction is still just as bad."
