Diego Alessi (#2 Callaway Competition, Corvette GT3 Z06.R), Pole Position, Race 1:
"It's very difficult to post a perfect lap. The car is very fast, but not easy to drive in some places. The main difficulty is extracting the car's full potential and posting a perfect lap. I was extremely surprised today by the Ford. If the GT is so fast here today this soon, then it will be extremely quick in the next race at the Lausitzring. Our goal in the two rounds this weekend should be to secure a win and a second place. Really easy to say in theory, but at times, not so easy to achieve on the track."
Dominik Schwager (#14 Lambda Performance, Ford GT), pole position Race 2:
"Frank (Kechele) and I are actually both good at qualifying. Being so far behind in the last few races has made our lives unnecessarily difficult. I'm happy about the pole, both for the team and for me. The pole is very nice, but the race is even more important. "
Dominik Baumann (#20 Pixum Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), grid position 12, Race 2:
"Claudia was very strong in qualifying and I'm satisfied with my position. We knew that it would be difficult. Everyone is bunched very close together, and if you make just a little mistake, it immediately costs you three grid places. The sprint to the second turn will be very exciting in the race. We can only secure points with consistency and an error-free drive."
Maximilian Götz (#10 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), grid position 4, Race 2:
"More than grid position four was impossible this weekend. I was surprised how fast Corvette and Ford were in the second qualifying session. But two P4s is an excellent grid position for the two races."
Robert Renauer (#8 Tonino by Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), grid position 7, Race 1:
"I'm not unhappy. With the exception of Buhk and Götz in the Mercedes, all my immediate opponents are behind me. We're a bit slower than last year here in the Porsche, but that was already apparent to us after testing at the track early in the season.
Jeroen den Boer (#12 DB Motorsport, BMW Z4 GT3), grid position 3, Race 2:
"We are a trifle surprised by our excellent grid positions. We did not expect it and have no explanation for why we are so quick here and so far ahead of the other BMWs. Unlike us, Schubert did some testing here, so we assumed that we would be behind them. It's important in the race to get through the first two or three laps, because they will be very tough. We are not the fastest on the straights but gain time on the final sector; however, there are three long straights right after the start."
Mario Farnbacher (#6 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), grid position six, Race 1:
"It was never going to be possible to do better than sixth place. Compared to last year, we are simply too slow. We are 10km/h down on the straights compared to last year due to the smaller air restrictors and the new aerodynamics."
Rahel Frey (#26 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra):
"We had some problems with the fuel pump in first practice and lost training time. We were then left struggling to catch up during the short practice session. In addition, the car was understeering, but I'm optimistic that we can fix that before the race."
Gerhard Tweraser (#44 Grasser Racing, Lamborghini Gallardo FL2), grid position 16, Race 2:
"We still have some problems with the car's balance but have achieved the maximum with grid positions 9 and 16. In the race, we're relying on our performance over the distance. We may have difficulty getting the tyres up to temperature in qualifying but should gain as a result in the race, because we expect the Lamborghini to be very consistent."
Mike Parisy (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette GT3 Z06.R), grid position 7, Race 2:
"The car is good and the combination with Toni Seiler works well. Toni had a minor spin in qualifying. I hope that will not have a bad effect on tyre performance in the race. We have a good set-up for the race and I hope that we can finish on the podium here."
Andreas Simonsen (#11 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), grid position 11, Race 2:
"We have some problems with the brakes. We keep having issues with fading under braking and the car gets twitchy. The brakes are brand new, so we don't know as yet what's causing it, but we aim to find a cure before the race."
