A special season for Porsche driver Christian Engelhart was made complete with an award from ADAC Südbayern; the 27-year-old Porsche driver was presented with the Südbayern ADAC circuit title last Saturday. Engelhart lined up last season in the ADAC GT Masters, as well as in the Porsche Carrera Cup and in the international Porsche Supercup, run as support to Formula 1.
In the ADAC GT Masters, Engelhart secured a podium at the Sachsenring jointly with Nicolas Armindo, driving a 911 GT3 R (Team Geyer & Weinig EDV / Schütz Motorsport). He finished the season as runner-up in the Porsche Carrera Cup after achieving three wins. The Porsche driver was named ADAC Südbayern Motor Sportsman of the Year in special recognition of his achievements during 2013. "It's a great honour for me and gives me enormous satisfaction. So, my 2013 season has finished very successfully, and I'm now looking forward to the festive period and the start of the new season."
But Engelhart, a fully qualified car mechanic, will not have much time to relax after his most successful season to date with a total of eleven podium finishes because the 2014 season kicks off for him at an early stage with two top-class long-distance races in January. "It was decided quite some time ago that we would again be making an early start to the year. I'll be lining up in two classic races during January, at the 24-hour races in Daytona, Florida and in Dubai. I'll be in a position to tell you more about my plans for the new season in the near future."
