Maximilian Buhk and Maximilian Götz (Polarweiss Racing) are off to a strong start on the last day of the ADAC GT Masters 2013 season. The morning warm-up sessions saw their Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 record the fastest lap time (1:40.169 min), besting Martin Ragginger and Robert Renauer in the Tonino powered by Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R. As the curtains open on this Sunday's finale (kicking off at midday on kabel eins), Buhk & Götz are six points behind the series leaders Diego Alessi and Daniel Keilwitz, who were eighth-fastest while warming up in their Corvette for the last 60-minute race of the season - the race which will decide the title.
Third-fastest were Claudia Hürtgen & Dominik Baumann (PIXUM Team Schubert) in a BMW Z4 ahead of Ludwig & Thomas Jäger, also in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, driving for Polarweiss Racing.
Christopher Haase and Rachel Frey (Prosperia C. Abt Racing) will not be able to participate in this Sunday's races after Frey's accident in the first lap on Saturday. The Audi R8 LMS ultra had suffered too much damage for on-site repairs to be possible.
The Chevrolet Camaro GT run by SaReNi United will take their place in the grid for the 16th and final race of the season. Camaro drivers Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Oliver Gavin had to forgo racing on Saturday due to motor-related problems.
