Frank Kechele (#14 Lambda Performance, Ford GT): "We are considerably slower here than we had expected. This track has some major irregularities in the surface, which I don´t seem to recall from last year. The bumps are causing us a lot of problems."
Daniel Keilwitz (#2 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3): "We were right off the pace in free practice However, in contrast to most of our competitors, we decided not to fit new tyres. Consequently, we feel we have the potential to improve our performance in qualifying."
René Bourdeaux (#9 Tonino powered by Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "One of the bolts on a wishbone sheared off during free practice, which meant we didn´t have the chance to put in many laps. But apart from that problem, things went very well."
Christopher Haase (#26 Prosperia C Abt, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "In the first session, we were feeling our way a bit, but in the afternoon, it went a lot better. I´ll be very interested to see how qualifying turns out."
Robert Renauer (#8 Tonino powered by Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "For the Porsches, the Lausitzring counts as the most promising track of the whole season, so we came here with the expectation of being out at the front. We just have a minor problem with the tyres: apparently, we´re going a bit hard over the kerbs, which isn´t doing the tyres any good."
Nick Tandy (#5 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "I´ve got to get used to the Lausitzring all over again and also to the Yokohama tyres, because this is my first weekend back in the ADAC GT Masters during the current season. The free practice sessions didn´t go too badly, but I think we are still capable of improvement."
Toni Seiler (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3): "The traction of our Corvette hasn´t been especially good so far, and bearing in mind that this is a track where traction really counts, that´s quite worrying."
Sergey Afanasiev (#11 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3): "The track offers a lot of grip. The major challenge consists in setting the car up in such a way that that you make maximum use of this grip. It´s so important on this track that the car handles well, and in this respect, we´re looking pretty good. We won´t have much chance against the Porsches here; on the sections where there are a lot of bends, you can see the Porsches increasing their lead corner by corner. On Turn 1, there is a kerb with a metal cover. I noticed it on yesterday´s track inspection, and today I promptly went and damaged my front splitter on it."
