Jens Klingmann (#20 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), winner: "I'm only making a guest appearance here and didn't want to take any great risks at the start. Consequently, I was early on the brakes and had to let Dominik past. I pushed, but I really couldn't have found another hundredth of a second in my stint. I was right at the limit and we had got the choice of tyre pressure wrong compared to our sister car. The early stop was ultimately the reason why we won. The decision to come in early was made independently by our engineer Dirk Martin, as we were having radio problems and he couldn't understand me. The decision paid off and Max didn't allow himself to get rattled by Claudia. My only appearance at an ADAC GT Masters weekend this season has proven to be both a great debut and a farewell."
Max Sandritter (#20 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), winner: "Even when I came under pressure from Claudia, I just kept on racing at my own pace. With the car in fantastic form, it was relatively easy holding my position out in front. I came here simply with the hope of being able to finish both races, but to have got this result is like a dream come true. I'm sorry for Jörg Müller - it would have been good to partner him this weekend, but Jens was a worthy replacement."
Dominik Baumann (#19 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), second: "I made another excellent start. It was a big advantage holding the lead in these conditions, since it enabled me to have good visibility. We notched up a good number of points today, so I'm very happy."
Claudia Hürtgen (#19 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), second: "Our primary objective today was to secure the top two spots. With this in mind, it would have made no sense to battle it out with Max. Of course, we could have also changed places, but this is sport and this is the result the race produced. After the pit stop, it was clear that we would be finishing in this order. We messed up on the pit stop and that's all there is to it. Anyway, it is a great result for the team. After the accident at Spa and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the team deserves this success."
René Rast (#27 Prosperia C. Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), third: "We couldn't have gone any faster today. After the first lap, I never saw the BMW again. Third place is an excellent result."
Christopher Mies (#27 Prosperia C. Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), third: "Bearing in mind that we had 30 kilos of extra weight in the car after yesterday's win, this is a result we can be happy with. The Porsche that was in third place definitely moved five car lengths ahead of me under the yellow flags; that was not particularly clever on the part of the driver. Consequently, the penalty was the right decision. Otherwise, it would have been difficult to find a way around him, since we're fighting for the championship and don't want to take any unnecessary risks."
Gerd Beisel (#40 RWT Racing Team, Corvette Z06.R GT3), winner in Gentlemen classification: "Sven handed the Corvette over to me in an excellent position and I just had to do the best I could. It was difficult at the start, as cars kept spinning on the track, so you had to pick your way through carefully. We have plenty of potential to do even better in the next race."
Jeroen den Boer (#12 DB Motorsport, BMW Z4 GT3) P5: "I lost lot of places at the start, so we went onto the slicks early. It was a good decision, but the number 8 Porsche then held us up for 15 minutes, even though he had already been disqualified from the race with a black flag. We were just as quick as the Schubert BMWs; we could have got more out of today's race if our qualifying had gone better."
Sergey Afanasiev (#11 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3), P 6: "I am really pleased with how the weekend has gone. We finished in eighth and sixth place on a track that is not best suited to a Mercedes. The race was not easy, what with the safety, yellow flags and everything. The safety car was apparently brought out because my rear apron came off. I have no idea how this happened, but it's something I need to get to the bottom of."
Michael Schulze (#45 Schulze Motorsport, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3), P9: "It wasn't easy driving in the wet, but in the second half of the race, we made good progress forward. When we saw that the track was drying out, we pitted immediately and then made good progress through the field."
Tobias Schulze (#45 Schulze Motorsport, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3), P9: "We changed one or two things on our setup for the race, but we still thought we should have done better here. Our lap times are the same as what we were producing last year. As a guest entrant, we had to carry 30 kilos of ballast, which didn't help. In addition, the atmospheric pressure was too low here, so we couldn't get up to maximum tyre pressure."
Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), P13: "We were consistently too slow this weekend, in the dry just as much as in the wet. For the first two or three laps, it was looking OK, but after that, we were out of contention."
Christopher Haase (#28 Prosperia C. Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P12: "The race went well. We couldn't keep up with the BMW, but at least we got away from the chasing pack. Our car was super, only things got a bit more difficult as the track dried out."
Rahel Frey (#28 Prosperia C. Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P12: "Christopher did all the groundwork and my job was simply to get the car across the finish line. My stint was relatively unspectacular. I was just following Christopher Mies while the Porsche immediately behind was struggling to keep up. We've made a major step forward with our car today."
Sven Barth (#40 RWT Racing Team, Corvette Z06.R GT3): P16: "I got off to a good start, but then I had to go into the gravel to avoid another car on Turn 1. This put me at the back of the field, but I was able to reclaim several places. It wasn't easy driving in the rain with the Corvette in its current configuration. Gerd Beisel did a superb job on his stint to bring our car safely home."
Lennart Marioneck (#17 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), P17: "I didn't have the best of races, but at least we managed to get out of trouble. Despite the damage to the car, Remo put in a strong performance. We had problems with the brakes and the tyre wear was extreme. Traction control only operated up to fifth gear, which made the car very difficult to drive."
