Maximilian Buhk (#10 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), winner: "I could have driven faster in the first half of the race and could have been even more aggressive, but I didn't to want to make any silly errors in P3. The Corvettes then did us a favour. I hope we can continue to ride on this wave of success."
Maximilian Götz (#10 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), winner: "I controlled the race after the driver changeover and tried to keep out in front. Markus Winkelhock put me under pressure again in the last few laps, but the tyres were in a bad condition for both of us towards the end. Although he managed to get a little closer to me after I locked up, everything was under control. I'm sorry about the contact with Dominik Schwager. Today, we have clearly profited from the mishap for the Corvettes, otherwise it would have been very difficult to beat them."
Christer Jöns (#28 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P2: "Our plan to make a late driver changeover paid off, as it enabled us to move up to second place. We got ourselves where we wanted to be in the traffic and made the pit stop very late. This result is down to the team providing us with a good car and the pit stop and strategy going well. The Nürburgring is my home race - I love appearing on the podium here."
Markus Winkelhock (#28 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P2: "I re-emerged from the pit lane ahead of a large group of cars battling it out. During the first two laps, I had a bit of a fight on my hands to hold my position, but then I was able to move away easily. I drove every lap as if it were a qualifying session, but I couldn't chase down the Mercedes."
Sergey Afanasiev (#11 Polarweiss Racing, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P3: "It's the first time we've been up on the podium and it's always a bit tricky to open the champagne bottle if you're not used to it! The ADAC GT Masters is unbelievably competitive and I'm very thankful that our team boss Norbert Brückner recommended this series to me. I never thought that I'd be able to gain so much experience here. Although we probably don't have the best speed when it comes to vehicle classification, we're consistent and don't make any mistakes. We were also quite lucky today, as many of our competitors made mistakes and we were able to cash in on that."
Frank Kechele (#14 Lambda Performance, Ford GT), DNF: "This race was bittersweet for me. Although we didn't make it to the end, we showed great pace. We were good in practice and on race day. It was only our qualifying that let us down. However, I think we have now found the reason behind our poor performance in qualifying."
Max Sandritter (#20 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3), P7: "My stint was good - nothing out of the ordinary happened and we were the quickest BMW. After winning at Sachsenring, we had 30 kilos of extra weight on board. We lose that for Sunday's race, so we should be able to do even better."
Frank Schmickler: (#16 THE BOSS YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P22: "Nothing particularly interesting happened during my race. Like all of the other Audis, we found it very difficult on this track."
Toni Seiler (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), winner of Gentlemen classification: "I held back a bit at the start and let Remo Lips have the advantage - I didn't want to take any risks. I then concentrated on saving the tyres for Jeroen, as our plan was to attack in the second stint. Jeroen finished the race off well."
Jeroen Bleekemolen (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), winner of Gentlemen classification: "I had quite few interesting scraps along the way, but after I'd taken the car into the lead in the Gentlemen stakes, I decided not to take any more risks. Tomorrow, I'm starting from pole, so obviously there will be a lot more to play for."
Sean Edwards (#5 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P17 and second in the Gentlemen classification: "It wasn't easy to overtake this afternoon. We had nothing in reserve against the Corvettes. I could possibly have overtaken the second-placed Corvette, but certainly not Jeroen."
Christian Engelhart (#4 Team Geyer & Weinig EDV - Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P9: "the race didn't quite go to plan. I lost a couple of places at the start after some of the other drivers floored the accelerator somewhat early. But then we clawed back some places with a good pit strategy. I hope that we can manage a result in the Top Five tomorrow, but I don't think that a Porsche is capable of finishing any higher on this track."
