2012 ADAC GT Masters runners-up Diego Alessi and Daniel Keilwitz (Callaway Competition, Corvette) opened the second day of testing at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben by posting the fastest lap. The Corvette pairing established themselves at the top of the timesheet within the first thirty minutes of the three-hour morning session with a time of 01:27.889 mins. In second place, trailing by a mere 0.020 seconds, were Christian Mamerow and Christer Jöns in an Audi R8 LMS prepared by Prosperia C Abt Racing, just ahead of their team-mates René Rast and Christopher Mies.
The fastest Mercedes on the track was the Polarweiss Racing SLS AMG GT driven by defending champion Maximilian Götz and his new partner Maximilian Buhk. They took fourth place ahead of Mario Farnbacher and ADAC GT Masters newcomer Philipp Frommenwiler in the speediest of the Porsche 911 GT3 Rs (Farnbacher Racing).
The lap times on Wednesday morning suggest that the upcoming ADAC GT Masters season will be a close-run thing, with no more than 1.024 seconds separating the ten fastest super sports cars – Corvette, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW and Ford – in this third of four test outings.
The official pre-season testing at Oschersleben for the 2013 ADAC GT Masters continues on Wednesday afternoon with the fourth and final session.
