Gentlemen's standings: Debut victory for Nielsen: The race in Oschersleben and the amateur standings

In the first race of the ADAC GT Masters in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Christina Nielsen (Farnbacher Racing) made a perfect start in the Super Sports Car League. Along with fellow Dane Allan Simonsen, she achieved her first win in the amateur standings in the 911 GT3 R, coming home ahead of Remo Lips (Callaway Competition, Corvette GT3 Z06.R) and ADAC GT Masters newcomer Edward Leganov (rhino's Leipert Motorsport, Lamborghini Gallardo).

In the initial phase of the race, it was first Remo Lips, who took the lead in the amateur rankings from Nielsen and Leganov, posting super lap times on a wet track. Lips drove flawlessly and kept the Corvette in the lead until the half-way mark. In the second half of the race, though, Lips' team-mate Lennart Marioneck, making his ADAC GT Masters debut, had to let Allan Simonsen through to lead the amateur rankings. Simonsen maintained that position, driving to a class victory.

"I'm very happy to have Allan as my team-mate. Winning in the amateur category during my first weekend in the series is just amazing," said a happy Nielsen.

Remo Lips was also pleased with his second place: "I did exceptionally well in the wet conditions and was very fast. In the rain, I was at times the fastest Corvette driver. I kept out of trouble during the action-packed starting phase. In the end, unfortunately, Lenny had no chance of fending off the Porsche."

René Bourdeaux (Tonino / Herberth Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3-R) was unlucky, forced to retired after the first lap due to an accident. Toni Seiler (Callaway Competition Corvette GT3 Z06.R) was also unfortunate when technical problems put him out of the race after just nine laps.
