The new ADAC GT Masters season commences on 28th April. Once again forming part of the support programme will be the MINI TROPHY. This competition for the fashionable pint-size saloon car will take place on six of the eight weekend events at which the Super Sports Car League tops the bill. Contestants in this year´s MINI TROPHY have an extra incentive, as the newly crowned champion will be invited to showcase his (or her) talent in a GT car.
The race series organisers have agreed with BMW Team Schubert Motorsport that the trophy winner should be offered the opportunity to demonstrate their suitability for a higher echelon of GT motorsport trialling in a BMW Z4 GT3.
Over the past few years, several promising drivers have used the MINI John Cooper Works Challenge as a stepping stone to greater things. Current GT stars such as Harald Proczyk, Fredrik Lestrup, Johannes Stuck and Daniel Keilwitz made their breakthrough in this model. GT3 European champion and 2012 FIA Talent of the Year Dominik Baumann also has a MINI TROPHY podium to his credit.
