H.T.P. Motorsport to line up with two Mercedes: New Mercedes team takes over from HEICO Motorsport

Newly founded H.T.P. Motorsport, based in Saarbrücken, is set to continue the work of HEICO Motorsport and put two Mercedes-Benz SLS AMGs on the grid in the ADAC GT Masters during 2013. Following HEICO Motorsport's withdrawal from motor racing at the end of 2012 after more than 26 years, a company run by Wim de Pundert from the Netherlands has acquired the entire team.

New team owner de Pundert is co-owner of HTP Investments BV, which has been closely involved with HEICO both as partner and supporter ever since the team first got started in the GT3 motor racing scene with Mercedes-Benz. "It's just fantastic that Wim de Pundert has taken over the team and we can hit the ground running. We went on working over the New Year without any disruption, enjoying much improved conditions generally," says a delighted Norbert Brückner, who was previously team principal at HEICO Motorsport and is now at the helm of H.T.P. Motorsport as a director and team manager.

Reigning FIA GT3 European Champion Maximilian Buhk has already signed to drive one of the two gullwings in the ADAC GT Masters. 2013 marks his second season in the ADAC GT Masters. Team boss Brückner is even thinking about deploying a third SLS AMG: "The interest in the new team and the gullwings is so great that we are even considering the acquisition of a third racing car. The drivers know that we have an experienced team, as in previous years, which inspires confidence."

Exactly who will line up for H.T.P. Motorsport next to Maximilian Buhk in the ADAC GT Masters has yet to be decided. H.T.P. Motorsport is currently preparing for the new season in Portimao. The team from Germany's Saarland will take advantage of the test sessions to decide who will get a drive this season.
