Frank Kechele and Dominik Schwager (Lambda Performance) got off to a cracking start in the race Sunday at the Nürburgring, ready to face all-comers. The two Ford drivers in their GT posted the fastest lap (1:25.940 minutes) in the morning warm-up as the thermometer hit 24 degrees in bright sunshine, holding the promise of a great day's racing. After a lot of bad luck in Saturday's race, when, after putting up a strong fight, Kechele/Schwager had to drop out during the first half of the race with clutch problems, the Lambda pair aim to go on the offensive in Race 2 from 16th place on the grid.
Diego Alessi/Daniel Keilwitz were second fastest in their Corvette Z06.R GT3 (Callaway Competition) ahead of the Audi R8 LMS ultra with Sebastian Asch/Florian Stoll (MS RACING) and the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Christina Nielsen/Sean Edwards (Farnbacher Racing). Martin Matzke and ADAC GT Masters newcomer Daniel Brown set the fifth fastest time in the BMW Z4 GT3 (Vita4One).
