Maiden victory for Bourdeaux in Gentlemen category: Porsche driver from Munich wins Gentlemen classification

Following the disappointment of Saturday when the Tonino by Herberth Motorsport duo went out of the race on Lap 1, Sunday had a much happier outcome for René Bourdeaux as he claimed his first trophy in the Gentlemen classification. The white Porsche 911 GT3 R dominated the Gentlemen stakes in Sunday´s ADAC GT Masters race at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, leading the other contestants in this category from start to finish.

Alfred Renauer, who shares the cockpit with Bourdeaux, established an early lead over other co-drivers with an interest in the trophy, specifically Allan Simonsen (Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3R ) and Niclas Kentenich (Callaway Competition, Corvette).

The running order also remained unchanged after the first stint when Bourdeaux, Christina Nielsen and Toni Seiler took over for the rest of the race. Despite the absence of any actual overtaking, the Gentlemen class offered plenty of racing excitement as Nielsen put leader Bourdeaux under pressure with ever-improving lap times. But Bourdeaux ultimately prevailed, crossing the finish line just a car´s length ahead of his pursuer. Toni Seiler, who was having problems with the electrics on his car, took third place ahead of team-mate Remo Lips.

This win came as a big relief for René Bourdeaux: "I was very disappointed yesterday after going out of the race so early due to an accident. By contrast, everything went perfectly today; it was a great race." Christina Nielsen was also quite satisfied with her points haul from this first ADAC GT Masters weekend: one victory and one runner-up spot: "My car was faster than René Bourdeaux´s, but unfortunately only on those sections of the track where it´s impossible to overtake. I was always closing in on the Triple, but never at any point where I could have gone past."
