New Audi R8 LMS ultra arrives at MS RACING: MS RACING take delivery of 100th customer sports car to roll off special Audi assembly line

The reigning ADAC GT Masters team champions are switching from Mercedes-Benz to Audi for the 2012 Super Sports Car League and can now start preparing one of their two new R8 LMS ultras for the season opener on 26th - 28th April. The car that was handed over by quattro GmbH in Heilbronn-Biberach on Tuesday is the 100th special edition R8 to be assembled.

The Audi customer sport project, quattro GmbH, has only been in existence since 2009, so this 100th racing car based on the Audi R8 represents a significant milestone. The Audi R8 LMS ultra is the third evolutionary stage of the GT3 model.

"We are delighted that MS RACING have opted for Audi," says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of quattro GmbH. The 100-percent Audi-owned subsidiary with registered offices in Neckarsulm designs, builds and sells the customer sports car bearing the four-ring emblem on its grille.

Sebastian Asch, who shared the 2012 ADAC GT Masters title with Maximilian Götz, was present at the handover of the Audi R8 LMS ultra along with new team-mate for 2013 Florian Stoll, also a previous ADAC GT Masters race winner. Race engineer Ralph Stoll was officially handed the keys for the car by Dirk Spohr, Head of Customer Management at Audi Sport customer racing.

The defending team champions from Waldshut-Tiengen intend to announce their full driver line-up for the 2013 ADAC GT Masters season in the next few weeks.
