Porsche also in front during second practice: Porsche duo Engelhart/Armindo secure best time

Drivers were made to sweat during the second practice session of the fourth ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Nürburgring when they went out on track at noon for the 60-minute session with an air temperature of 33 degrees. Fastest time in FP2 went to a Porsche, just as it had done in this morning´s first session. Christian Engelhart and Nicolas Armindo were fastest in the 911 GT3 (Team Geyer & Weinig EDV, Schütz Motorsport) with a lap time of 1:26.759 minutes. The Porsche duo finished just a whisker ahead of the next fastest, Frank Kechele and Dominik Schwager, who in their Ford GT (Lambda Performance) were only 0.011 seconds down on the Porsche. The BMW Z4 GT3 of Sachsenring winners Max Sandritter and Jörg Müller (PIXUM Team Schubert) was only 0.092 seconds off the pace.

The two Dutch drivers, Jeroen den Boer and Simon Knap in the BMW Z4 GT3 (DB Motorsport) took fourth fastest time from the Corvette GT3 Z06.R of Toni Seiler and Jeroen Bleekemolen (Callaway Competition) that had been out in front at the beginning of the session.

Claudia Hürtgen/Dominik Baumann in the BMW Z4 GT3 (PIXUM Team Schubert) finished ahead of the quickest Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 (Polarweiss Racing) driven by Maximilian Buhk and Maximilian Götz. The two Corvette GT3 Z06.Rs of driver pairs, Diego Alessi/Daniel Keilwitz and Andreas Wirth/Christian Hohenadel (Callaway Competition) and the Porsche 911 GT3 R with Christina Nielsen/Sean Edwards (Farnbacher Racing) completed the Top Ten in FP2.

The times from second practice hold the promise of an exciting qualifying session this Friday afternoon at 4:45pm (MEZ), since just one second covered the 16 fastest supercars.

Second practice was briefly interrupted by the red flag to enable recovery of the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Sebastian Asch/Florian Stoll (MS RACING) that had slid off track into the gravel.
