Well, 15,000 GT fans in total came to the Nürburgring over the weekend.
Actor Uwe Ochsenknecht was among them. He enjoyed watching his first ADAC GT Masters race as a guest of Maximilian Götz.
In the paddock at the Nürburgring, we spotted, to name but a few: Luca and Klaus Ludwig, Jörg Bergmeister, Marco Seefried and Wolfgang Kaufmann.
Gerd Beisel's RWT Racing Team probably had the fastest racing taxi in the pits. Beisel chauffeured guests around the circuit in a sports prototype developed by French company Norma, an LMP900 that lined up ten years ago in the top class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. "But we had to fit a silencer, otherwise it would have been far too noisy," said Beisel.
Lambda Performance also had a fast racing taxi - last year's Ford GT GT3. In addition, a road-going version of the Ford GT painted in bright blue and orange Gulf colours drew admiring glances in the paddock.
Porsche driver Ragginger skipped the Nürburgring race and travelled to Korea instead for the ninth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the new Inje circuit. The Asia treble was worth it for Raggi: The Austrian won the race and placed second in the table in the penultimate race of the season, taking points out of championship leader Earl Bamber.
PIXUM Team Schubert had to pay a 500-euro fine after Jörg Müller almost collided with Gerd Beisel's Corvette in the pit lane during the first race on Saturday.
Daniel Dobitsch, Andreas Wirth, Remo Lips, Gerd Beisel and Jürg Aeberhard also had to dip deep into their pockets after speeding in the pit lane on Friday.
Callaway Competition boss Ernst Wöhr was at an ADAC GT Masters Weekend for the first time this year and was delighted to see his Corvette secure a double pole on Friday; Wöhr passed management of Callaway Competition to long-time friend Giovanni Ciccone earlier this year.
The youngest (Maximilian Buhk) and the second youngest (Dominik Baumann) drivers in the ADAC GT Masters both achieved a win at the Nürburgring weekend.
HTP Motorsport and their predecessor are real pros at the Nürburgring, since they have now secured a triple set of victories in the ADAC GT Masters on the Nürburgring's short track (2008, Frank Stippler/Lance David Arnold, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S, 2011 Andreas Wirth/Christiaan Frankenhout, 2013 Maximilian Buhk/Maximilian Götz, both in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3).
On Friday night in the pit lane, two ADAC GT Masters officials were hit by water bombs emanating from MS RACING's camp. No sanctions were taken against the extremely juvenile attackers.
Racing takes place back to back this weekend for the first time in the ADAC GT Masters. While on Sunday, some teams left the Nürburgring as early as possible to call in home first, others went straight to the Red Bull Ring so as to be in place to start readying their vehicles this Tuesday.
PIXUM team Schubert team boss Stefan Wendl came out with the weekend's best riposte after the award ceremony, when asked whether there was now a Blancpain clock in every Schubert workshop: "We're working on a clock that tells the time all over the world but we could still do with a few more."
