YACO Racing to stick with Audi for 2014 : Second ADAC GT Masters campaign in an Audi for YACO Racing

YACO Racing will be embarking on their second ADAC GT Masters campaign as Audi R8 specialists. The team from Plauen in Saxony has already booked a place for itself on the grid for the Super Sports Car League which launches into its 2014 season on the weekend of 25th - 27th April at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. And they already have half of the driver pairing sorted out with the signing of 27-year-old Philip Geipel from Plauen. YACO Racing contested their debut ADAC GT Masters campaign (2012) with a Chevrolet Camaro but switched to Audi for the season that has just finished.

"The Audi R8 was new to us at the start of this year, but we have since accumulated a lot of experience that we intend to turn into consistently good results during the coming season," said team boss Uwe Geipel. "I am very pleased that so many of our sponsors and partners are standing by us and that we have such a strong package going into next year."

Philip Geipel, son of team boss Uwe Geipel, is looking forward to his third season with YACO Racing in the Super Sports Car League: "This will be the first time we have started consecutive seasons in the ADAC GT Masters with the same vehicle; that should prove to be a big advantage. We showed our potential in the very first race on the opening weekend, and we subsequently learned a lot about the car in the course of the season. In the grand finale at Hockenheim, we came very close to matching the times of Prosperia C Abt who are also an Audi team and serve as a useful benchmark for us. This illustrates all the hard work we have put in as a team and promises good things for 2014."
