ADAC GT Masters: Comments after free practice: What the ADAC GT Masters drivers had to say after the two practice sessions

Peter Kox (#24 Blancpain Racing, Lamborghini Gallardo FL2): "We fitted new tyres all round for FP2, which worked very well for us and enabled me to set the best time. However, we´ve no real idea where that really puts us, as many of the opposition didn´t use any of their new tyres."

Jaap van Lagen (#3 GW IT Racing Team // Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "We´re very satisfied. Our results from both sessions were good, and we´re also happy with the car."

Dominic Jöst (#9 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Unfortunately, we lost a lot of time during both parts of free practice. In Session 1, we had problems with the floor of the car which started rattling loose and eventually fell off. Then in the afternoon session, we had problems with a stabiliser. Consequently, we´re not going into qualifying as well prepared as we would have liked."

Wolf Nathan (#4 GW IT Racing Team // Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "This particular series, the car and also the tyres are all new to me, and I´ve got a lot to learn. But the progress that we have made in each of the two sessions has been very encouraging."

Maximilian Buhk (#26 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3): "We used only worn tyres in both practice sessions, and everything went well. Now I´m interested to see how qualifying goes. I´m hoping to qualify in the Top Three."

Christian Engelhart (#3 GW IT Racing Team // Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Between the official tests and this race weekend, the team has put in a massive amount of work. That was because our Porsche had to be completely rebuilt after a crash in testing. So far, the car has been fine, and we´re all very satisfied."

Mario Farnbacher (#5 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Compared with the official tests, our car seems to have undergone a transformation and is now handling completely differently. We´ve so far been unable to discover the reason why."

Luca Ludwig (#21 BKK Mobil Oil Zakspeed, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3): "We were very happy about how the first session went; we were just a fraction off the pace of the HTP Mercedes which we regard as our benchmark. But it´s going to be very tight this weekend, and I think that to win here, you need to be in an Audi or a Porsche."

Oliver Gavin (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3): "We have an extreme case of understeer at the moment; the Corvette is handling quite differently to ten days ago when we were here for the tests. The crew say that they experienced a similar problem last year, so now we´re trying to solve it. The track conditions are very different to what they were during the tests, so it would seem that the surface is very sensitive to temperature changes."

Philip Geipel: (#16 YACO Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "The first session went OK, but in the second, I unfortunately went into the gravel on the triple bend and damaged one of my brake callipers. This meant that we didn´t have any time to do a run on the new tyres."
