Alon Day (#21 BKK MOBIL OIL Zakspeed, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), pole position for Race 1: "We knew it was going to rain, so I went flat out right from the start of qualifying. It's great to be on pole position for our team's home race. The entire crew has done a fantastic job and supplied us with an excellent car. As for the race on Saturday, I'm now hoping for dry conditions."
Nicki Thiim (# 11 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), pole position for Race 2: "I am just so relieved. We haven't had an easy season so far, but today our luck was really in. At last we've had a problem-free qualifying. I felt OK on the wet track; in fact, I always enjoy driving in the rain. I had expected that these conditions would favour the Porsches, but our Audi's road holding was outstanding today."
Fabian Hamprecht (#11 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), grid position 20 for Race 1: "Things just didn't go right for me in qualifying. At least we have a very good starting position for Sunday, so I'm counting on the second race."
Toni Seiler (# 18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), grid position 19 for Race 1: "The rain in the second qualifying session unfortunately threw a spanner in the works for us. If it hadn't been for that shower, Jeroen would certainly have booked us a place on the front row. However, I'm not at all dissatisfied with the way my own quali went."
Daniel Keilwitz (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), grid position 17 for Race 1: "We got the setup totally wrong because we were trying something that didn't work. From P17, a good result will be difficult but not impossible."
Jan Seyffarth (#23 ROWE RACING, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), grid position 12 for Race 2: "Unfortunately, we had the wrong strategy in the second qualifying heat and went for a dry setup. That was a mistake. Our sister car was retuned during the break and qualified a long way ahead of us. We actually belong up there with them, because basically the car runs well here."
Mathias Lauda (#27 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), grid position 14 for Race 2: "I had been expecting the wet track to dry out towards the end of qualifying and to become faster, but after two laps, the grip on the rain tyres had just gone. I don't really know the rain tyres well enough yet, as I'm new to the series. It's a matter of experience that I still lack. I was unable to improve my time, but at least I managed to keep up with my team-mate Maxi Götz, which gives me confidence for the race."
Luca Stolz (#27 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), grid position 13 for Race 1: "I had been counting on a better result in qualifying, but it was very hectic out there on the track and the lap times are very close. I'm expecting a lot more for the race itself, because the Mercedes seems to be very good here and qualifying is actually not the main strength of this car."
Robert Renauer (#8 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), grid position 5 for Race 1: "I am very pleased with our qualifying performance. We missed out on the last race weekend but have returned here in fine form, with a P5 for me and a place on the front row for Norbert in the second race. I think we're in with a chance of a good result."
Diego Alessi (#2 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), grid position 19 for Race 2: "I think I got the timing completely wrong in qualifying. This whole season seems to be jinxed. Every decision I make just seems to be the wrong one."
