Oliver Gavin (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), winner: "That was a tough race. It was pure unadulterated motorsport, with nobody giving an inch. Winning both races here is such a fantastic feeling. It's far more than we expected. Daniel drove brilliantly in the first stint of the race and kept us up with the leaders. When the two front-runners were both handed penalties, we were quick to seize our chance. I hope that Daniel can use this double victory to form the basis of a successful title challenge in the second half of the season."
Daniel Keilwitz (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), winner: "I was unable to find a reply to the Camaro's power at the start, but after all, that's their strong point. The safety car deployment then helped us a great deal. Not only did we take the lead, we were able to nurse the car for a few laps in the extremely hot conditions."
Kelvin van der Linde (#10 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P2: "We've been struggling a bit here, but in today's race, we and the team did everything right. We had a good strategy, René drove a great race, and that's the reason why we made it onto the podium. I'm lucky to have such a great team-mate and also such a good team in Prosperia."
René Rast (#10 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P2: "We were delighted to have finished tenth yesterday, and the last thing we were expecting was to be making a podium appearance today. We had a super pit stop, and the Camaro was out of luck: those were the two decisive factors in our podium finish."
Maximilian Buhk (#26 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P3: "After the start, nothing of any note happened in my stint. I wasn't under any severe pressure from behind, but equally I wasn't in a position to attack. Then the safety car injected an element of excitement into the race. Full credit to Maxi - he got us up into P3 with a series of terrific overtaking manoeuvres."
Maximilian Götz (#26 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P3: "We lost two positions to the BMWs on the pit stop, but I was able to reclaim both of them with clinical passing. I could see that Assenheimer was having problems with his braking, and that allowed me to nab P3. We had to battle hard for this podium. Starting from tenth, we certainly didn't expect to get past the rest of the field without any problem. We're very satisfied with two third-place finishes."
Herbert Handlos (#7 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), winner in Gentlemen class: "After the disappointment of yesterday, we benefited from good fortune today. Yesterday, we were out of luck, whereas today it was the turn of the others. These things have a habit of balancing themselves out. A nice way to round off the weekend."
Nico Bastian (#22 ROWE RACING, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P10: "Our race pace was good, and I think I've proved today that I'm capable of overtaking. The only trouble is that we didn't have a good grid position; it's very difficult to progress up the field from right at the back."
Luca Stolz (#27 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P12: "Unfortunately, we had difficulties with our pit stop in both races. On Saturday, it was a problem with the safety belt, and today we arrived in front of the wrong garage, which cost us some time."
Stefan Wackerbauer (#9 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P19: "I've never driven the Porsche before this weekend and had a lot to learn. Nonetheless, everything worked fine, and in comparison to the other Porsches, we posted some decent lap times. It's just a pity that the Porsche wasn't quite as competitive as we would have hoped this weekend. We tried to make the best of the situation."
Alfred Renauer (#7 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P14: "Today's win in the Gentlemen class was somewhat unexpected but nonetheless gratefully accepted. Under normal conditions, the Corvettes would have been unbeatable."
Jeroen Bleekemolen (#18 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), P17: "If it hadn't been for the safety car and the penalty today, we could have been up there on the podium. The penalty was puzzling - I simply set off in pursuit of Tomas, which is what you normally do at the start of a race. Then Tomas had a problem on his pit stop. I don't understand why we weren't allowed to serve out the penalty in front of our own garage - then this problem wouldn't have arisen."
Dominic Jöst (#9 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), third in Gentlemen class: "Stefan got off to a really good start, but then our engineer didn't call us in for our pit stop when the safety car came out. That cost us all the places we had gained, and we emerged from the pit stop in second-to-last position."
Patrick Assenheimer (#2 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), P8: "I was having problems with the brakes during my stint. At times, I was having to brake 15 metres earlier, and even that wasn't enough on occasions. Kelvin van der Linde wasn't very sporting on the pit stop. He almost drove into my car, and then he braked suddenly just before reaching the pit lane exit. This is the fourth time this season that we've lost a position due to an unfair move by an Audi driver."
Luca Ludwig (#21 BKK MOBIL OIL Zakspeed, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P6: "One of the Audis performed an unconventional manoeuvre in the pit lane, but that's a matter for the race stewards. Out on the track, though, everything was fine. The car ran well, and I wasn't under any real pressure from behind, which left me free to concentrate on the BMWs ahead. However, I wanted to avoid any risks and just to post a solid result for the team."
Jaime Alguersuari (#22 ROWE RACING, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3), P10: "I need to spend more time with this car in order to get the maximum out of it. But we have been making progress, and I feel that I'm now more used to driving it. We've improved our performance and are beginning to show promise. We know the direction we need to work in, and we had good race pace. It's very difficult to get a win in this series, but a podium in the next few races is a definite possibility."
