Mathias Lauda (#27 HTP Motorsport, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3): "This is my first race weekend in the car, and I'm not all that familiar with the YOKOHAMA tyres either. There's a great deal to learn initially if we are to do a good job in the two races. Things are very close here as regards the front-runners in this series and the level of competition is extremely high."
Christian Engelhart (#3 GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "Our car is excellent, and we are very pleased. I was extremely lucky on my fastest lap in second free practice and set my fastest time on my first flying lap, after which the tyres' grip level changed substantially. However, I don't quite trust the situation at the top, and one must be very cautious about times posted so far."
René Rast (#10 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "Neither Kelvin nor I have driven very much here so far, because red flags kept disrupting practice. We have a great car, so I'm happy, but I don't expect we'll manage to achieve a place on the front row in qualifying. I'm still expecting considerably more here, particularly from Mercedes."
Daniel Keilwitz (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3): "We're basically happy with the car. The deficit on the competition both on new and old tyres is as expected. I hope that we can manage to secure a good grid position in qualifying. Our goal is to finish in the points on Saturday and on the podium on Sunday."
Nicki Thiim (#11 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra): "This is my first time here and I have to say, the track is very interesting and a lot of fun to drive. We've got a good car, and I expect to achieve a grid position on one of the top four rows. However, going the distance in the race here will be very exciting in view of the extremely high temperatures."
Jens Klingmann (#20 PIXUM Team Schubert, BMW Z4 GT3): "What a great track! It's my first time racing at the Slovakia Ring this weekend. There are some very tricky turns here, which makes things very interesting for a racing driver. Track conditions and the level of grip change quite considerably during the day, though."
Dominic Jöst (#9 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R): "We did some testing here yesterday and were very fast again today in first practice. In my opinion, the Porsche is still a bit down on performance at this track compared to the competition, and I'm dying to see where we stand after qualifying."
