- More than 15,000 fans came through the gates on the three days of the ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Nürburgring.
- The Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy and ADAC Graf Berghe von Trips Cup were contested for the first time as part of the ADAC GT Masters support programme at the Nürburgring. The next race meeting at the Sachsenring will also feature a debut, with the German Porsche Carrera Cup also listed in the race programme. Some drivers such as Nathan Wolf, Jaap van Lagen, Christian Engelhart and Robert Renauer will be under considerable pressure, as they compete in both the ADAC GT Masters and the Porsche brand trophy.
- Sven Barth, David Jahn and Daniel Keilwitz set new records at the Nürburgring. Barth and Jahn's win in Race 1 made the Corvette Z06.R GT3 the most successful super sports car in the series history. The victory scored by the RWT team was the 20th for a Corvette in the ADAC GT Masters, which means that the US sports car dislodges the Audi R8 LMS from its perch as car with the most all-time race wins. In Sunday's race, Andreas Wirth and Daniel Keilwitz emphasised the Corvette's superiority by notching up victory number 21.
- Race win No 21 for Corvette also elevates the General Motors subsidiary to equal first in the most successful brand stakes alongside Lamborghini.
- Daniel Keilwitz's fourth win in six races makes him the most successful driver in the history of the ADAC GT Masters. With twelve career victories, Keilwitz overtakes Christopher Haase.
- Keilwitz ventures into foreign climes next weekend. The defending ADAC GT Masters champion will be making his debut in the Porsche Supercup held in the context of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza. In his first race outing in a Porsche 911, Keilwitz will be representing Fach Auto Tech, a Swiss outfit that used to contest the ADAC GT Masters.
- Kelvin van der Linde is at last legally able drive a car on the public highway! Ahead of the ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Nürburgring, the championship leader passed the driving test in his home country of South Africa. But he is still not able to drive to the ADAC GT Masters on his own: "The earliest I'm allowed to rent a car is next year."
- Before the 2014 season started, Gerd Beisel took the decision to focus on his role as team manager at RWT Racing, leaving the driving to David Jahn and Sven Barth. This weekend, however, Beisel will be making a return to the cockpit when he contests the 24 Hours of Barcelona in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. "I got special permission from Callaway boss Ernst Wöhr to compete in a Mercedes this weekend," said Beisel with a wry grin.
- Patrick Simon, who provides the commentary for the 'ran Racing' live coverage on kabel eins, also has a 24-hour engagement this coming weekend. He will be driving a Series 964 Porsche 911 at Le Castellet in southern France in a 24-hour race for classic cars.
- Ahead of the next ADAC GT Masters race at the Sachsenring, ROWE RACING driver Jaime Alguersuari is making a trip to Beijing, China. The Spaniard will be competing in the first ever race under the new FIA Formula E rules.
