ADAC GT Masters champion Diego Alessi and newcomer Patrick Assenheimer line up for the 2014 season in a new-look black-and-white Corvette Z06.R. On Wednesday evening, Assenheimer showcased the 550bhp Callaway Competition Corvette Z06.R at AutoArenA in his home town of Heilbronn. The car dealership is the main sponsor of the Corvette which bears the starting number 2. The 21-year-old is making the step up from the MINI Trophy to the Super Sports Car League in which he will partner last year's champion Diego Alessi.
"The Corvette to be driven by Patrick Assenheimer and Diego Alessi looks great," says Callaway Competition team boss Giovanni Ciccone. "Daniel Keilwitz's sister car will continue in the corporate colours of Roller. With the two different paint jobs, fans at the track and watching on TV will be able to clearly distinguish our two Corvettes."
Having got the official presentation out of the way, it's back to normal for Assenheimer as he prepares for his debut in the ADAC GT Masters. This weekend, Callaway Competition have organised a two-day test session for the young talent and the freshly painted Corvette at Hockenheim.
