Comments after Qualifying 1: What the drivers had to say for themselves after qualifying at Zandvoort

Robert Renauer (#8 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), pole position for Race 1: "We took a gamble and got lucky. I was out on track right at the start of the qualifying session, had a relatively clear run and was able to achieve a best time on my third lap. Once the rain set in, the competition were unable to beat my time. I'm now hoping for consistently wet or consistently dry conditions on Saturday, as it could get quite tricky if the conditions change during the race."

Kévin Estre (#3 GW IT Racing Team // Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P2 on the grid: "I went out on track very early and saw the dark storm clouds gathering, so I immediately started pushing. I had a lot of traffic on my first lap, but it all came together on my second. The team has done a great job, we had an excellent strategy and my lap times weren't at all bad. I think we have every chance of a decent weekend."

David Jahn (#13 RWT Racing Team-Corvette Z06.R GT3), P21 on the grid: "I had engine failure in qualifying. All of a sudden, I lost power and had to park the Corvette."

Andreas Wirth (#1 Callaway Competition, Corvette Z06.R GT3), P3: "We were in luck here today - under normal conditions, third on the grid would not have been possible. I'm hoping that it doesn't rain on Saturday, because I had very little grip on the wet-weather tyres."

Sebastian Asch (#6 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P24: "We had the potential to be somewhere near the front. We clearly went out on track too late and frittered away our chance."

Nathan Morcom (#5 Farnbacher Racing, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P15: "That was a good qualifying session. It's a pity, though, that it started to rain. But at least I managed to put in a couple of laps in the dry and qualify 15th."
