Kelvin van der Linde (#10 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), pole position for Race 1: "Our car was already good in free practice; we seem to have found a suitable setup. Pole is only one small step and doesn't mean anything in itself, but it's a good position to be in for the title fight. Now I'm hoping for a good start in Saturday's race."
René Rast (#10 Prosperia C Abt Racing, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P3 for Race 2: "On a wet Sachsenring, it was a balancing act between driving as fast as possible and still staying on the track. After one lap, the wet weather tyres had already lost their grip. With the track slowly drying out, it wasn't possible to improve on our time, because the tyres immediately begin to overheat if it is not wet enough. The title is now uppermost in our mind, so it wouldn't have been right to take excessive risks."
Daniel Dobitsch (#100 kfzteile24 APR Motorsport, Audi R8 LMS ultra), P2 for Race 2: "I was tailing Nicki Thiim on his pole-setting lap. After a few corners, I realised that he couldn't shake me off. I was a bit surprised myself at how well it went. We got the moment just right when the wet track was at its best and my tyres were still optimal."
Dominik Schwager (#8 TONINO Team Herberth, Porsche 911 GT3 R), P7 for Race 2: "Our approach to qualifying was a bit too cautious, and we probably waited too long. Our speed is right and I could have matched the time that Jaap van Lagen set. But even so, Robert's P2 on the grid and my seventh place start on Sunday are highly creditable. This is the first time I have driven the Porsche here in the rain; you need to drive two or three laps to see what the tyre is capable of and where the traction is good."
Jaap van Lagen (#3 GW IT Racing Team Schütz Motorsport, Porsche 911 GT3 R) P4 for Race 2: "Both races should be very interesting; we certainly have very good starting positions. I'm also competing here in the Porsche Carrera Cup this weekend, and adjusting between the two cars has gone a lot better than I had expected. This track is simply fantastic."
