Daniel Keilwitz and Andreas Wirth (Callaway Competition) made an impressive return to the fray this Sunday morning at the Nürburgring after their bad luck in Race 1 and subsequent early exit. The two Corvette drivers, who start from 17th position on the grid in the second race, announced their intention to secure a decent result by posting fastest time in the warm-up. Renger van der Zande and Maximilian Götz (HTP Motorsport) set the second fastest lap time in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. "The car feels good. I'm confident about the race," said Götz after the warm-up. "It might rain during the race according to the weather forecast, which would certainly make things interesting."
Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Tomas Enge (Reiter Engineering) achieved the third fastest lap time in the Chevrolet Camaro GT. The Camaro drivers hope to have better luck in the second race than on Saturday when problems with the gearchange led to the American muscle car retiring.
Nico Bastian and Jaime Alguersuari (ROWE RACING) were fourth in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. "I hope it rains, that would be really good for us today," said Alguersuari, who starts from fifth on the grid this Sunday.
