ADAC GT Masters·14.4.2014

Dominic Jöst looking forward to ADAC GT Masters de: Newcomer Jöst aiming to win ADAC GT Masters Gentlemen title

Dominic Jöst from Abtsteinach near Heidelberg has set himself a new challenge for 2014. After competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, he has now graduated to the Super Sports Cars League, in which he will be driving a 500bhp Porsche 911 GT3 R entered by TONINO Team Herberth. Following an encouraging two days' testing at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the 35-year-old has set himself a characteristically ambitious target, namely to finish the season as champion in the Gentlemen (formerly Amateur) competition.

A change of car, team and series obviously makes for an interesting season ahead, with plenty of new experiences in store. "I'm very excited and just can't wait for the first race," says Jöst, who will be sharing the Porsche cockpit with new partner Florian Scholze. "We've had a really good understanding right from the outset. I am sure that we're going to have a lot of fun this year."

The duo jumped at the chance of participating in the recent official tests at Oschersleben and familiarising themselves with the car. On the almost circular track near Magdeburg, Jöst and Scholze reeled off lap after lap, gaining valuable experience. Jöst explains why the tests were so important: "Florian and I have mainly driven in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the past. Consequently, we need to get to grips with our new vehicle pretty fast. We feel that we coped very well with the adjustment process during the tests, and I'm sure that we will be strong contenders for the Gentlemen title."

Jöst's experience from the previous season should come in handy, because he already knows most circuits on the ADAC GT Masters calendar from the Porsche Carrera Cup. "The ADAC GT Masters is an exceptionally competitive series with a very strong field, so I'm hoping this advantage will be helpful," says Jöst optimistically.
