ADAC GT Masters·23.4.2014

Engelhart: Back in the vanguard of ADAC GT Masters: The ADAC GT Masters is the third series in which Christian Engelhart will be lining up in 2014

All good things come in threes - Christian Engelhart is lining up again this year in the ADAC GT Masters. After a disappointing year, 2014 must obviously be a comeback season for the Porsche Carrera Cup vice-champion in his battle to reach the top. In order to achieve that, the 27-year-old German will drive a Porsche this year in all the three GT series in which he is involved.

Next weekend's season opener in Oschersleben will be the first indicator for Christian Engelhart and his Dutch team-mate, ADAC GT Masters newcomer Jaap van Lagen, of how well the Porsche 911 GT3 R prepared by GW IT Racing Team / Schütz Motorsport is doing. Never before has the level of competition in the ADAC GT Masters been so high as in the upcoming season and Engelhart will be facing not just well-known opposition from previous years but also former winners from the Porsche one-make cup series.

"Respect yes, give way, never!"

But no one receives a bonus as the result of a scrap, as Engelhart makes plain before the first race: "It speaks volumes for the attractiveness of the racing series that the ADAC GT Masters can draw in drivers with such a wealth of experience, but they must first prove their worth out on track. They can if they like - but preferably behind me!"

Well prepared for the task ahead

Christian Engelhart has no worries after his training programme: "I was already in brilliant shape for the start of the year, which I proved with my victory at the 24 Hours of Dubai. I subsequently spent more time in the cockpit in the long-distance races at Sebring and Daytona in Florida and I'm ready to attack in our yellow and black Porsche."
