Yet another ex-DTM driver is to make his ADAC GT Masters debut. Following the maiden race for Mathias Lauda at the Slovakia Ring, Dutchman Renger van der Zande is due to make his entry into the Super Sports Car League in the two races hosted by the Nürburgring this coming weekend.
Van der Zande drove ten races for Mercedes-Benz in the 2011 DTM season and is now enjoying considerable success on the North American racing scene. At the circuit in the Eifel hills, he will be sharing the cockpit of an HTP Motorsport Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 (starting number 26) with Maximilian Götz who is currently ranked fifth in the championship.
The Dutchman, who is stepping in as a temporary replacement for Maximilian Buhk, has already had some success with the gullwing, winning the inaugural 12 Hours of Zandvoort this spring.
Following his recent outing in Slovakia, Mathias Lauda is back again for the Nürburgring as partner to Luca Stolz, also of HTP Motorsport (starting number 27).
Last year, HTP Motorsport recorded the sole victory for Mercedes-Benz of the 2013 ADAC GT Masters campaign at the Nürburgring.
