ADAC GT Masters·15.10.2014

Facts from the ADAC GT Master finale in Hockenheim: Facts and figures to mark the end of the ADAC GT Masters season

- Prosperia C Abt Racing are only the second team to mount a successful defence of the team title in the ADAC GT Masters since Reiter Engineering in 2007/2008.

- Around 18,000 spectators came through the gates at the final weekend of the ADAC GT Masters in Hockenheim.

- Kelvin van der Linde and René Rast won the drivers' standings with a lead of 26 points. No other driver pairing before them has ever ended the season with such a big lead. The Audi duo secured points in all 16 races on their way to the title.

- An outfit achieved the double of wins in both drivers' and team standings for the third time in 2014. This particular feat was first achieved in 2007 by Christopher Haase and Reiter Engineering, and again in 2012 by Maximilian Götz/Sebastian Asch and MS RACING. In 2014, it was the turn of Kelvin van der Linde/René Rast and Prosperia C Abt Racing.

- After the double victory at the finale in Hockenheim, Daniel Keilwitz in the Corvette Z06.R still leads the list of drivers with the most wins in the ADAC GT Masters. Having secured 14 wins to Christopher Haase's 11, Keilwitz is now the most successful driver in terms of wins. The Corvette Z06.R has 23 victories to its name, making the American sports car the most successful in the series with regard to wins.

- Only when looking at which car has notched up the greatest number of pole positions does the Corvette fail to top the statistics. That honour belongs to the Audi R8 LMS ultra by a margin of 23:21 in its favour.

- Callaway Competition have replaced Reiter Engineering as the most successful team ever in the history of the ADAC GT Masters with 21 wins to their name. Both teams have remained true to the series since its inception.

- At the finale weekend, the Corvette built by Callaway Competition took a win in Hockenheim for the first time, so the American sports car has now won at least one race at every track that featured on this year's ADAC GT Masters calendar. The Corvette will be faced with a big challenge next year, though, when the ADAC GT Masters returns to Spa, as the Corvette is still without a win there. The Corvette failed to secure podiums at Spa in 2012, which is the one and only time that the series has raced there so far, and also in Zolder (2007 and 2011).

- Kelvin van der Linde clinched the title in his debut season, a feat previously achieved by Christopher Haase (2007), Tim Bergmeister (2008), Christian Abt (2009) and Alex Margaritis (2011).

- Kelvin van der Linde and René Rast secured 214 points on their way to taking the title. In the previous year, Daniel Keilwitz and Diego Alessi won with 179 points, which would only have been enough for fourth place this year.

- A successful defence of the title in the drivers' standings in the ADAC GT Masters is still proving elusive. Christopher Haase got closest in 2008 when he just missed his second championship success by finishing runner-up.

- The ADAC GT Masters finale was staged in Hockenheim for the fifth time this year, taking place there for the fourth time on the trot. That tradition is set to continue again next year. The 2015 ADAC GT Masters champion will be known in Hockenheim by October 4th, 2015, at the latest.

- Kelvin van der Linde is now the youngest ever ADAC GT Masters champion after taking the title at the age of 18 years and 106 days. Christopher Haase had previously held that honour. He became champion in 2007, aged 20 years and 18 days.

- The finale in Hockenheim was the last in a total of 48 races staged since 2012 where super sports cars contesting the ADAC GT Masters have utilised YOKOHAMA tyres. Beginning next year, Pirelli will supply tyres to the ADAC GT Masters up to and including 2017.

- 194 days. That's how long the winter break will last from the ADAC GT Masters finale in Hockenheim until the start of practice at the first fixture of the 2015 season on 17th April, 2015, in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
